Experience the Pont du Gard region through the practice of sophrology.

Writer: Carine C&KCarine C&K

To guide you and offer you a moment of local immersion, I had the pleasure of meeting people who were not encountered by chance. A common intention, a similar life path, and naturally the creation of shared journeys for the benefit of the visitors to our beautiful region. Let me introduce you to the people behind a practice or discipline, their specialties, and how our authentic, personalized experiences were born—created collaboratively between La Villa and the artisans, merchants, artists, and wellness practitioners of the Pont du Gard region.

A big thank you to Maud, Chloé, Nathalie, Christelle, Nicole, Daphné, Mélanie, Stéphanie, and Gwennaelle for their participation, inspiration, and joy in sharing their passion and work with me, making our “Secrets d’Adresse” experiences chosen and unforgettable moments.

This week, my encounter with Mélanie, Sophrologist and Life Coach.

It was water that first brought us together. The villa, with its indoor pool open year-round, and Mélanie, who trained in the Janzu practice: an aquatic relaxation method inspired by Watsu and other wellness practices. It takes place in a pool and involves a series of gentle movements, stretches, and rockings performed by and under the control of a certified practitioner. It’s a moment of total letting go in the water. An invitation to float, to be carried, and to rediscover a deep sense of well-being thanks to the water. This practice is similar to sophrology, which Mélanie offers in her practice in Uzès. Breathing, relaxation, and visualization while performing gentle movements aim to harmonize the body and mind, fostering a peaceful state of consciousness.

These two practices are connected—one in the water, the other in the open air, in our Zen space or during a walk in the garrigue. During the hour-long session, we are invited to regain calm, confidence, and balance with our body and mind.

Secrets d’Adresse on paths less traveled with the sophro-inspired storytelling practice to discover the Librotte huts.

Together, we imagined taking you off the beaten track, not far from the Villa, to discover the Librotte huts, where you will be charmed by the location and explanations given by Mélanie, who knows these places well. Amidst tales and words, you’ll practice a few exercises focusing on inspiration and expiration, and soon, the history of the location and you will become one.

I won’t say too much more; if the idea of experiencing sophrology in the natural setting of our enchanting garrigue inspires you, book your outdoor sophro session with us.

Another zen dimension, the practice of kinesiology.

That will be for the next article! Stay tuned and subscribe so you don’t miss any of my adventures.
