Still in my chapter of living the Pont du Gard region through authentic and local experiences, this week, I share the story of my encounter with Nicole Bommarito, Painter.
A different perspective on the artist
What a surprise it was to discover what lies behind Nicole, the painter and ceramist, based in the gallery in Castillon du Gard. As a travel enthusiast myself, I met an artist who has exhibited and taught painting in various countries around the world – Tunisia, Hungary, Morocco, Algeria, Japan… Needless to say, our conversation sailed smoothly, drifting between the customs and colors from here and there. A playful word, given the favorite subject of Nicole – the Sea and Sailors. Her collections of blues and vibrant colors turn her gallery into a palette of joy and smiles.
Acrylic painting within everyone’s reach
Nicole has published books on acrylic techniques and recorded videos to teach the mastery of acrylic painting. Texture effects, drawing without knowing how to draw, collage, transparency, and layering… all make this technique accessible to everyone. But it’s certain, Nicole tells me.
Whether on canvas or any other object, acrylic painting is a pleasure, even for those with two left hands. And here, Nicole corrects me, pointing out that there is no one with two left hands—just time, desire, and intention, and that transforms someone into a blossoming artist.
Secrets d’Adresse on the cobblestones of artistic inspiration in color.
You can see where I’m going with my secrets of the craft! I want to take you on a journey to enjoy this wave of creativity and let you experience a unique workshop hosted and co-created with Nicole: 2 hours of hands-on practice, and you’ll leave with your creation as a keepsake of a moment spent in the heart of our beautiful village of Castillon.
A new artistic dimension awaits in my upcoming encounters with Nathalie, a ceramic artist, and Christelle, a creative artist in Uzès.
